The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) is consulting on proposed changes to local bus services across the region. If you rely on local bus services for work, education, healthcare appointments, shopping, visiting family and friends, or simply value having access to public transport in our villages, now is the time to make your voice heard.

The Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Combined Authority (CPCA) has launched a public consultation on proposed changes to local bus services across the region.

Among the proposals being considered is a change to the current T4 service, which serves the Wilbrahams. Under the proposals, the T4 would become Service B. The proposals would also see the Manor Close stop in Little Wilbraham reduced to a two-hourly service.

The CPCA says the changes are intended to create a bus network that is more reliable, better connected and provides the best possible value for money. However, it is important to note that no decisions have yet been made, and the Combined Authority is seeking feedback before reaching any conclusions.

The Parish Council is concerned about the potential impact that a reduction in service frequency could have on residents, particularly those who rely on public transport for work, education, healthcare appointments, shopping and social activities.

We are therefore urging as many residents as possible to take part in the consultation and ensure local views are heard.

When responding, residents may wish to consider:

• Whether the proposed service frequency would meet local needs.

• The impact on older residents, young people and those without access to a car.

• Access to employment, education and healthcare services.

• Connections to Cambridge and neighbouring communities.

• The importance of maintaining sustainable transport options for rural villages.

The consultation questionnaire takes approximately 5–10 minutes to complete and is open until 28 July 2026.

The Parish Council strongly encourages everyone to participate. The more feedback the Combined Authority receives from local residents, the better informed its final decisions will be.
